Traditional Tantra teachings
Celebrate your
Bliss
At SKaSTA (Shri Kali Sva-Tantra Ashram) we share wisdom from the Kaula Trika Tantra tradition, which celebrates this world as the blissful Play of Devī, the Divine Feminine.
We celebrate life as Kula - a vibrant global community sharing traditional as well as contemporary practical knowledge, both in residence and online. Our Traditional Tantra Yoga Immersions are founded on decades of experience and certified by Yoga Alliance.
The Ways We
Play & Celebrate Life
At SKaSTA, we offer a space for sincere, playful self-exploration and community connection, rooted in the wisdom of Śaiva-Śakta Tantra. Here Kula members engage in deep self-inquiry and embodied experience. Our teachings integrate tantric philosophy, mantra, puja, and āsana, emphasizing self-awarness as a lived reality. This is a journey of self-discovery, where all aspects of life: pleasure, pain, challenge, ease, dynamism and stillness are embraced as expressions of the Divine.

Kaula Tantra
Phylosohpy
Kaula Tantra integrates ritual, spiritual science, and direct experience to celebrate the Divine. This approach allows practitioners to use every aspect of life—including the body, senses, emotions, and environment—to recognize all experience as Divine Play.

Ayurveda & Walking Massage
Ayurveda is the foundation of the SKaSTA Tantra Yoga āsana and bodywork system. Most days at SKaSTA begin with giving and receiving pråņa balancing Ayurvedic bodywork.
During weekly satsangs you will learn the foundationl principles of Ayurveda. You will also have a personal Prakrti (constiution) consultation as well as access to further consultations and treatments.

Shri Kali Ashram
Shri Kali Ashram (SKA) was founded in 2007 by Ma Kristina Baird and Shanmukha Natha. Since 2007, SKA has become one of the largest organizations offering traditional tantra teachings.
Sva-Tantra Ashram
Whitney Wheelock studied and taught at SKA from 2008-2017. When SKA left India, Whitney remained and opened Sva-Tantra Ashram (STA) in 2019 sharing the same system he shared at Shri Kali Ashram. Toma Ivanauskaite joined STA in 2023 to explore and share non-dual Tantra.
SKaSTA
In 2023, Ma Kristina, Toma and Whitney combined Shri Kali Ashram and Sva-Tantra Ashram to form SKaSTA. At SKaSTA, we continue our passion in creating space for kula (community) members to play and explore monistic life together.

What is Kaula Tantra?
Kaula Tantra is a Traditional Tantric philosophy from the monist perspective of Śaiva Tantra. Kaula Tantra holds that this entire experience of life is the projection of one blissful, playful, Divine consciousness.
The information held in the Kaula Tantra system is meant to be lived, to be experienced in every moment of life. Kaula Tantra is a system of on action versus intelectualization. Eventually the worldview shared becomes intuitive, a superconscious flow rather than intellectual exercise or effort. Kaula Tantra sees every moment as sacred play; life as the dance of Shiva (foundational consciousness) and Shakti (playful dynamism) metamorphosing as each of us.
Through the view, that all is the play of one blissful consciousness embodied as everything, Kaula Tantra reminds practitioners of their divine potency (Svatantra) and how to recognise that potency in every moment.

Welcome Chad,
a new SKaSTA Kula Member
During the season 2025 - 2026, Chad Ross will support the ashram as a volunteer and will share his passion and knowledge as a registered nurse and acupuncturist.
"I began my journey in healthcare as a Navy Diver and Search and Rescue Swimmer before transitioning into a career as a registered nurse specializing in pediatric/adult emergency medicine. After over a decade in the ER, I sought a more holistic and patient-centered approach to healing, which led me to acupuncture. I earned my Master’s degree in Acupuncture from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine and now integrate both Eastern and Western perspectives to provide a deeper understanding of health and wellness. My passion lies in helping people connect with their bodies and find balance through personalized treatments."
